Medical Device Factory Expansion

Teleflex Medical is a global provider of medical technologies with facilities in Limerick.

The Client

Teleflex Medical is a global provider of medical technologies with facilities in Limerick. They urgently needed a new cleanroom facility, which meant fast-tracking the design, installation, commissioning and qualification of a new ISO Class 8 cleanroom, taking COVID-19 precautions, Brexit complications and the client’s corporate commitments to sustainability into account.

How PEMCAS Delivered

PEMCAS provided all the engineering, architectural and health & safety services, so we could accelerate timelines by progressing compliance and procurement in parallel. We saved two months at the design and procurement stage, which could be added to the construction phase.

We met sustainability goals through LED lighting and associated controls. A mobility management plan (MMP) looked into developing local public transport and cycling networks. An internal working group was established to manage and monitor this plan.

The new cleanroom was commissioned and qualified to all required GMP/GEP standards – on time and within budget.

Key Insights

Delivering a project of this scale and commercial importance, under strict guidelines and to a tight deadline, was only possible because our complete in-house team worked closely with our client to understand and interpret their requirements while also upholding their safety and CSR values.
