Celebrating Professional Excellence: PEMCAS Engineers Achieve Key Industry Qualifications

At PEMCAS, we continually encourage and invest in our team's professional growth and qualifications. We believe that technical excellence and continuous professional development are fundamental to delivering the innovative, integrated engineering solutions our clients depend on.

We're delighted to share two significant achievements from our engineering team in 2025, both of which strengthen our capability to deliver complex, sustainable projects across industrial, commercial, and technology sectors.

Padraig Carrigg Achieves Chartered Engineer Status

Our Senior Engineer, Padraig Carrigg, has been awarded Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland—a prestigious recognition that reflects nearly two decades of engineering excellence and professional achievement.

Since beginning his career in Edinburgh in 2006, Padraig has built extensive expertise in structural design, complex urban redevelopment, and technically demanding temporary and permanent works solutions. His career expanded internationally when he moved to Australia, where he served as a senior structural engineer on gas-turbine power stations across Australia, Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

Since joining PEMCAS in 2017, Padraig has been instrumental in delivering multidisciplinary projects while expanding his expertise into project management, financial oversight, and team development. His Chartered Engineer status formally recognises his commitment to the highest standards of professional competence, ethical practice, and continuous development.

Hammad Shafique Achieves Energy Management Certifications

Our Senior Building Services Engineer, Hammad Shafique, has completed both the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) qualifications, issued by the Association of Energy Engineers. Hammad is now working towards being added to the SEAI-approved Energy Auditors list.

Since joining the M&E team two years ago, Hammad has established himself as a key contributor to our building services capability, with particular expertise in mechanical and energy-related design. These certifications significantly enhance PEMCAS's ability to:

  • Analyse and optimise energy performance across buildings and industrial processes

  • Identify practical, cost-effective efficiency improvements

  • Support clients in reducing operational carbon footprints

  • Deliver comprehensive energy audits aligned with SEAI standards

  • Integrate energy management strategies throughout project design

What This Means for Our Clients

These achievements reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards across our multidisciplinary team. Whether you're planning a complex pharmaceutical expansion, an industrial facility upgrade, or a sustainable new build, you can be confident that PEMCAS brings:

  • Chartered expertise across structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines

  • Advanced energy management capabilities to support decarbonisation goals

  • Integrated project delivery from concept to commissioning

  • Continuous innovation backed by ongoing professional development

As organisations across Ireland and the UK work towards ambitious net-zero targets, having qualified Chartered Engineers and Certified Energy Auditors within our team strengthens our ability to deliver projects that are not only technically excellent but also sustainable, efficient, and future-proofed.

Investing in Excellence

At PEMCAS, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset. By supporting continuous professional development and industry-recognised qualifications, we ensure that our team remains at the forefront of engineering innovation and best practice.

Congratulations to both Padraig and Hammad on these well-deserved achievements. We're proud to have such dedicated professionals on our team.
